Inspiring Growth, Hope, and Healing through Compassionate, Evidence-Based Counselling

Registered Psychologist in Calgary and Alberta

Our mission is two-fold:

Eliminate suffering and empower you to live a fulfilling life, in alignment with your values (how you want to show up in the world).

Many of us may suffer for various reasons - whether it's struggling in our relationships with ourselves, the past or present, or our relationship with others - and need help coping. In addition, research tells us that we may feel distress when we are living in misalignment with how we want to be showing up. This is where self-discovery and the identification of values is so important in the journey towards healing.

Drawing from various modalities including (but not limited to), Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Mindfulness interventions, Compassion-Based psychotherapy, Gottman Method for couples and Emotion Focused therapy, we strive to help you feel what it’s like not to suffer and have a more meaningful life.

Part of being able to do this requires that us as therapists show up authentically, always prioritizing creating a safe therapeutic relationship, as well as being highly skilled, committing to continual professional development.

Hi, I'm Kaylee

...and I'm so glad that you're here. I'm the owner and Registered Psychologist at Tri Lotus Psychotherapy.

Some things I know to be true, based on my 8 years in the mental health field, that inform my practice are:

  • There is no hierarchy for pain- all pain is valid and it should not be compared.

  • Vulnerability leads to connection. Therapy can be a safe space to practice being vulnerable and connect, setting the stage for other relationships in your life.

  • Our mind can play tricks on us.Being able to identify when the story that we're telling ourselves is just that, a story, is extremely valuable in creating change and reducing suffering. We can then take back control of our own narrative.

  • You need to feel it to heal it.Learning how to feel our emotions in a manner that is healing, but not overwhelming, is inherent in our practice.

  • The way we talk to ourselves matters.Harsh self-criticism can impact our mood and our relationship with ourselves and others.

  • Change happens outside of the therapy room too. Skills or practices can be given to help you thrive both inside and outside of the counselling office.

  • Authenticity matters.Therapy doesn't always need to be serious and clinical. At Tri Lotus Psychotherapy you can expect to engage with a therapist who is compassionate, authentic and uses humour (but is also highly skilled and trained).

"What makes night within us may

leave stars."
